Prior to 2.9.3, a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability exists in Geyser’s handling of Bedrock player head texture data. By supplying a crafted Base64-encoded skin texture URL via the /give command, an attacker can cause the Minecraft server to issue arbitrary HTTP GET requests to attacker-controlled or internal endpoints. This occurs server-side, without proper URL validation, and can be triggered by a Bedrock client. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.9.3.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","score":4.3},"cwes":["CWE-918"],"references":["https://github.com/GeyserMC/Geyser/security/advisories/GHSA-xcfg-fcr5-gw9r","https://github.com/GeyserMC/Geyser/security/advisories/GHSA-xcfg-fcr5-gw9r"],"products":["geysermc:geyser"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T18:27:13.530666824+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-42188","score":0.00195,"percentile":0.09141,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-xcfg-fcr5-gw9r","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-xcfg-fcr5-gw9r","summary":"Geyser Vulnerable to Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) via Player Head Texture URL in Geyser","modified":"2026-05-13T14:33:38.616935Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"org.geysermc.geyser:core","purl":"pkg:maven/org.geysermc.geyser/core","ranges":["<2.9.3"],"fixed":["2.9.3"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
