Prior to version 1.69.3, a command injection vulnerability in the _extractLLM() function allows attackers to execute arbitrary shell commands on the server. The function constructs a curl command using string concatenation and passes it to execSync() without proper sanitization, enabling remote code execution when the corpus parameter contains shell metacharacters. This issue has been patched in version 1.69.3.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-78"],"references":["https://github.com/EvoMap/evolver/releases/tag/v1.69.3","https://github.com/EvoMap/evolver/security/advisories/GHSA-j5w5-568x-rq53","https://github.com/EvoMap/evolver/security/advisories/GHSA-j5w5-568x-rq53"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T19:31:02.781428341+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-42076","score":0.01305,"percentile":0.70338,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-j5w5-568x-rq53","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-j5w5-568x-rq53","summary":"Evolver: Command Injection via `execSync` in `_extractLLM()` function allows Remote Code Execution","modified":"2026-05-05T16:11:45.846873Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@evomap/evolver","purl":"pkg:npm/%40evomap/evolver","ranges":["<1.69.3"],"fixed":["1.69.3"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
