Prior to version 0.5.1, the OpenClaude MCP authentication flow starts a temporary local HTTP server to handle OAuth callbacks. To prevent CSRF attacks, the server validates a state parameter against an internally stored value. However, due to a logic flaw in the order of conditionals, an attacker can completely bypass this check and force the server to shut down — without knowing the state value at all. This issue has been patched in version 0.5.1.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-352","CWE-400"],"references":["https://github.com/Gitlawb/openclaude/commit/739b8d1f40fde0e401a5cbd2b9a55d88bd5124ad","https://github.com/Gitlawb/openclaude/releases/tag/v0.5.1","https://github.com/Gitlawb/openclaude/security/advisories/GHSA-c73c-x77g-854r","https://github.com/Gitlawb/openclaude/security/advisories/GHSA-c73c-x77g-854r"],"products":["gitlawb:openclaude"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:37:48.043517290+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-42073","score":0.00255,"percentile":0.17129,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-c73c-x77g-854r","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-c73c-x77g-854r","summary":"OpenClaude MCP OAuth Callback: State Check Bypass via error Param Leads to DoS","modified":"2026-09-10T03:51:05.297595464Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@gitlawb/openclaude","purl":"pkg:npm/%40gitlawb/openclaude","ranges":["<0.5.1"],"fixed":["0.5.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
