Prior to 1.9.0, Langflow is vulnerable to Path Traversal in the Knowledge Bases API (DELETE /api/v1/knowledge_bases). This occurs because user-supplied knowledge base names are concatenated directly into file paths without proper sanitization or boundary validation. An authenticated attacker can exploit this flaw to delete arbitrary directories anywhere on the server's filesystem, leading to data loss and potential service disruption. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.9.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:N/I:H/A:H","score":9.6},"cwes":["CWE-22"],"references":["https://github.com/langflow-ai/langflow/security/advisories/GHSA-9whx-c884-c68q","https://github.com/langflow-ai/langflow/security/advisories/GHSA-9whx-c884-c68q"],"products":["langflow:langflow"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:35:16.954578616+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-42048","score":0.04195,"percentile":0.90949,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-9whx-c884-c68q","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-9whx-c884-c68q","summary":"Langflow Knowledge Bases API is Vulnerable to Path Traversal","modified":"2026-06-29T12:26:10.021679892Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"langflow","purl":"pkg:pypi/langflow","ranges":["<1.9.0"],"fixed":["1.9.0"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-377","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-377","summary":"Langflow Knowledge Bases API is Vulnerable to Path Traversal","modified":"2026-07-13T16:15:26.989199998Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"langflow","purl":"pkg:pypi/langflow","ranges":["<1.9.0"],"fixed":["1.9.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
