{"cve":"CVE-2026-41686","nvd":{"published":"2026-05-04T19:16:03.883","modified":"2026-10-26T19:10:00.163","status":"Analyzed","description":"Claude SDK for TypeScript provides access to the Claude API from server-side TypeScript or JavaScript applications. From version 0.79.0 to before version 0.91.1, the BetaLocalFilesystemMemoryTool in the Anthropic TypeScript SDK created memory files and directories using the Node.js default modes (0o666 for files, 0o777 for directories), leaving them world-readable on systems with a standard umask and world-writable in environments with a permissive umask such as many Docker base images. A local attacker on a shared host could read persisted agent state, and in containerized deployments could modify memory files to influence subsequent model behavior. This issue has been patched in version 0.91.1.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:L/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":4.8},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":4.4},"cwes":["CWE-732"],"references":["https://github.com/anthropics/anthropic-sdk-typescript/security/advisories/GHSA-p7fg-763f-g4gf"],"products":["anthropic:claude_sdk_for_typescript"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T19:31:02.781428341+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-41686","score":0.00119,"percentile":0.01767,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-p7fg-763f-g4gf","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-p7fg-763f-g4gf","summary":"Claude SDK for TypeScript has Insecure Default File Permissions in Local Filesystem Memory Tool","modified":"2026-05-08T01:51:09.165218Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@anthropic-ai/sdk","purl":"pkg:npm/%40anthropic-ai/sdk","ranges":[">=0.79.0 <0.91.1"],"fixed":["0.91.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
