Prior to version 2026.416.0, an unauthenticated attacker can achieve full remote code execution on any network-accessible Paperclip instance running in `authenticated` mode with default configuration. No user interaction, no credentials, just the target's address. The chain consists of six API calls. The attack is fully automated, requires no user interaction, and works against the default deployment configuration. Version 2026.416.0 patches the issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":10.0},"cwes":["CWE-287","CWE-862","CWE-1188"],"references":["https://github.com/paperclipai/paperclip/security/advisories/GHSA-68qg-g8mg-6pr7","https://github.com/paperclipai/paperclip/security/advisories/GHSA-68qg-g8mg-6pr7"],"products":["paperclip:paperclipai","paperclip:paperclipai\\/server"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-25T23:44:33.281319194+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-41679","score":0.3167,"percentile":0.98281,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-68qg-g8mg-6pr7","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-68qg-g8mg-6pr7","summary":"paperclip Vulnerable to Unauthenticated Remote Code Execution via Import Authorization Bypass","modified":"2026-05-05T16:11:43.177Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"paperclipai","purl":"pkg:npm/paperclipai","ranges":["<2026.410.0"],"fixed":["2026.410.0"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@paperclipai/server","purl":"pkg:npm/%40paperclipai/server","ranges":["<2026.410.0"],"fixed":["2026.410.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
