{"cve":"CVE-2026-41675","nvd":{"published":"2026-05-07T04:16:33.580","modified":"2026-08-28T16:17:58.217","status":"Deferred","description":"xmldom is a pure JavaScript W3C standard-based (XML DOM Level 2 Core) `DOMParser` and `XMLSerializer` module. In @xmldom/xmldom prior to versions 0.9.10 and 0.8.13 and xmldom version 0.6.0 and prior, the package allows attacker-controlled processing instruction data to be serialized into XML without validating or neutralizing the PI-closing sequence ?>. As a result, an attacker can terminate the processing instruction early and inject arbitrary XML nodes into the serialized output. This issue has been patched in versions @xmldom/xmldom versions 0.9.10 and 0.8.13.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:H/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":8.7},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:N","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-91"],"references":["https://github.com/xmldom/xmldom/commit/7207a4b0e0bcc228868075ed991665ef9f73b1c2","https://github.com/xmldom/xmldom/releases/tag/0.8.13","https://github.com/xmldom/xmldom/releases/tag/0.9.10","https://github.com/xmldom/xmldom/security/advisories/GHSA-x6wf-f3px-wcqx","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:26234"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:33:55.586217763+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-41675","score":0.0047,"percentile":0.40707,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-x6wf-f3px-wcqx","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-x6wf-f3px-wcqx","summary":"xmldom has XML node injection through unvalidated processing instruction serialization","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:44.905959387Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@xmldom/xmldom","purl":"pkg:npm/%40xmldom/xmldom","ranges":["<0.8.13"],"fixed":["0.8.13"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@xmldom/xmldom","purl":"pkg:npm/%40xmldom/xmldom","ranges":[">=0.9.0 <0.9.10"],"fixed":["0.9.10"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"xmldom","purl":"pkg:npm/xmldom","ranges":["<=0.6.0"],"fixed":[]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
