{"cve":"CVE-2026-41488","nvd":{"published":"2026-04-24T21:16:19.637","modified":"2026-10-26T21:10:00.170","status":"Analyzed","description":"LangChain is a framework for building agents and LLM-powered applications. Prior to 1.1.14, langchain-openai's _url_to_size() helper (used by get_num_tokens_from_messages for image token counting) validated URLs for SSRF protection and then fetched them in a separate network operation with independent DNS resolution. This left a TOCTOU / DNS rebinding window: an attacker-controlled hostname could resolve to a public IP during validation and then to a private/localhost IP during the actual fetch.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","score":3.1},"cwes":["CWE-918"],"references":["https://github.com/langchain-ai/langchain/security/advisories/GHSA-r7w7-9xr2-qq2r"],"products":["langchain:langchain-openai"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T21:38:48.864438205+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-41488","score":0.00158,"percentile":0.04879,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-r7w7-9xr2-qq2r","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-r7w7-9xr2-qq2r","summary":"langchain-openai: Image token counting SSRF protection can be bypassed via DNS rebinding","modified":"2026-06-06T01:15:07.912179267Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"langchain-openai","purl":"pkg:pypi/langchain-openai","ranges":["<1.1.14"],"fixed":["1.1.14"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-76","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-76","summary":"","modified":"2026-05-20T09:19:04.187253Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"langchain-openai","purl":"pkg:pypi/langchain-openai","ranges":["<1.1.14"],"fixed":["1.1.14"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
