{"cve":"CVE-2026-4139","nvd":{"published":"2026-04-22T09:16:24.707","modified":"2026-06-17T10:56:03.013","status":"Deferred","description":"The mCatFilter plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in all versions up to and including 0.5.2. This is due to the complete absence of nonce verification and capability checks in the compute_post() function, which processes settings updates. The compute_post() function is called in the plugin constructor on every page load via the plugins_loaded hook, and it directly processes $_POST data to modify plugin settings via update_option() without any CSRF token validation. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to modify all plugin settings, including category exclusion rules, feed exclusion flags, and tag page exclusion flags, via a forged POST request, granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking a link.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N","score":4.3},"cwes":["CWE-352"],"references":["https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/mcatfilter/tags/0.5.2/mcatfilter.php#L138","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/mcatfilter/tags/0.5.2/mcatfilter.php#L320","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/mcatfilter/tags/0.5.2/mcatfilter.php#L339","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/mcatfilter/trunk/mcatfilter.php#L138","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/mcatfilter/trunk/mcatfilter.php#L320"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:30:49.762551342+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-4139","score":0.00165,"percentile":0.05669,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
