{"cve":"CVE-2026-41239","nvd":{"published":"2026-04-23T16:16:26.560","modified":"2026-10-26T21:10:00.170","status":"Deferred","description":"DOMPurify is a DOM-only cross-site scripting sanitizer for HTML, MathML, and SVG. Starting in version 1.0.10 and prior to version 3.4.0, `SAFE_FOR_TEMPLATES` strips `{{...}}` expressions from untrusted HTML. This works in string mode but not with `RETURN_DOM` or `RETURN_DOM_FRAGMENT`, allowing XSS via template-evaluating frameworks like Vue 2. Version 3.4.0 patches the issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N","score":6.8},"cwes":["CWE-79","CWE-1289"],"references":["https://github.com/cure53/DOMPurify/releases/tag/3.4.0","https://github.com/cure53/DOMPurify/security/advisories/GHSA-crv5-9vww-q3g8"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T21:38:48.864438205+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-41239","score":0.00248,"percentile":0.15985,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-crv5-9vww-q3g8","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-crv5-9vww-q3g8","summary":"DOMPurify has a SAFE_FOR_TEMPLATES bypass in RETURN_DOM mode","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:43.947374186Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"dompurify","purl":"pkg:npm/dompurify","ranges":[">=1.0.10 <3.4.0"],"fixed":["3.4.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
