{"cve":"CVE-2026-41180","nvd":{"published":"2026-04-23T02:16:15.977","modified":"2026-10-25T23:10:00.167","status":"Deferred","description":"PsiTransfer is an open source, self-hosted file sharing solution. Prior to version 2.4.3, the upload PATCH flow under `/files/:uploadId` validates the mounted request path using the still-encoded `req.path`, but the downstream tus handler later writes using the decoded `req.params.uploadId`. In deployments that use a supported custom `PSITRANSFER_UPLOAD_DIR` whose basename prefixes a startup-loaded JavaScript path, such as `conf`, an unauthenticated attacker can create `config.<NODE_ENV>.js` in the application root. The attacker-controlled file is then executed on the next process restart. Version 2.4.3 contains a patch.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-22"],"references":["https://github.com/psi-4ward/psitransfer/commit/8b547bf3e09757122efa00aab90281e3915aa0c6","https://github.com/psi-4ward/psitransfer/releases/tag/v2.4.3","https://github.com/psi-4ward/psitransfer/security/advisories/GHSA-533q-w4g6-5586","https://github.com/psi-4ward/psitransfer/security/advisories/GHSA-533q-w4g6-5586"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-25T23:44:33.281319194+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-41180","score":0.00307,"percentile":0.23293,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-533q-w4g6-5586","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-533q-w4g6-5586","summary":"PsiTransfer: Upload PATCH path traversal can create `config.<NODE_ENV>.js` and lead to code execution on restart","modified":"2026-05-05T16:11:32.569502Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"psitransfer","purl":"pkg:npm/psitransfer","ranges":["<2.4.3"],"fixed":["2.4.3"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
