{"cve":"CVE-2026-41062","nvd":{"published":"2026-04-21T23:16:21.520","modified":"2026-10-26T22:10:00.163","status":"Analyzed","description":"WWBN AVideo is an open source video platform. In versions 29.0 and below, the directory traversal fix introduced in commit 2375eb5e0 for `objects/aVideoEncoderReceiveImage.json.php` only checks the URL path component (via `parse_url($url, PHP_URL_PATH)`) for `..` sequences. However, the downstream function `try_get_contents_from_local()` in `objects/functionsFile.php` uses `explode('/videos/', $url)` on the **full URL string** including the query string. An attacker can place the `/videos/../../` traversal payload in the query string to bypass the security check and read arbitrary files from the server filesystem. Commit bd11c16ec894698e54e2cdae25026c61ad1ed441 contains an updated fix.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-22"],"references":["https://github.com/WWBN/AVideo/commit/2375eb5e0a6d3cbcfb05377657d0820a7d470b1d","https://github.com/WWBN/AVideo/commit/bd11c16ec894698e54e2cdae25026c61ad1ed441","https://github.com/WWBN/AVideo/security/advisories/GHSA-f4f9-627c-jh33","https://github.com/WWBN/AVideo/security/advisories/GHSA-m63r-m9jh-3vc6","https://github.com/WWBN/AVideo/security/advisories/GHSA-m63r-m9jh-3vc6"],"products":["wwbn:avideo"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T22:26:44.656832877+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-41062","score":0.00718,"percentile":0.5359,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
