{"cve":"CVE-2026-40929","nvd":{"published":"2026-04-21T23:16:20.433","modified":"2026-10-26T22:10:00.163","status":"Analyzed","description":"WWBN AVideo is an open source video platform. In versions 29.0 and prior, `objects/commentDelete.json.php` is a state-mutating JSON endpoint that deletes comments but performs no CSRF validation. It does not call `forbidIfIsUntrustedRequest()`, does not verify a CSRF/global token, and does not check `Origin`/`Referer`. Because AVideo intentionally sets `session.cookie_samesite=None` (to support cross-origin embed players), a cross-site request from any attacker-controlled page automatically carries the victim's `PHPSESSID`. Any authenticated victim who has authority to delete one or more comments (site moderators, video owners, and comment authors) can be tricked into deleting comments en masse simply by visiting an attacker page. Commit 184f36b1896f3364f864f17c1acca3dd8df3af27 contains a fix.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:L","score":5.4},"cwes":["CWE-352"],"references":["https://github.com/WWBN/AVideo/commit/184f36b1896f3364f864f17c1acca3dd8df3af27","https://github.com/WWBN/AVideo/security/advisories/GHSA-8qm8-g55h-xmqr","https://github.com/WWBN/AVideo/security/advisories/GHSA-8qm8-g55h-xmqr"],"products":["wwbn:avideo"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T22:26:44.656832877+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-40929","score":0.00113,"percentile":0.0142,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
