{"cve":"CVE-2026-40925","nvd":{"published":"2026-04-21T21:16:45.903","modified":"2026-10-26T00:10:00.150","status":"Analyzed","description":"WWBN AVideo is an open source video platform. In versions 29.0 and prior, `objects/configurationUpdate.json.php` (also routed via `/updateConfig`) persists dozens of global site settings from `$_POST` but protects the endpoint only with `User::isAdmin()`. It does not call `forbidIfIsUntrustedRequest()`, does not verify a `globalToken`, and does not validate the Origin/Referer header. Because AVideo intentionally sets `session.cookie_samesite=None` to support cross-origin iframe embedding, a logged-in administrator who visits an attacker-controlled page will have the browser auto-submit a cross-origin POST that rewrites the site's encoder URL, SMTP credentials, site `<head>` HTML, logo, favicon, contact email, and more in a single request. Commit f9492f5e6123dff0292d5bb3164fde7665dc36b4 contains a fix.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:L","score":8.3},"cwes":["CWE-352"],"references":["https://github.com/WWBN/AVideo/commit/f9492f5e6123dff0292d5bb3164fde7665dc36b4","https://github.com/WWBN/AVideo/security/advisories/GHSA-vvfw-4m39-fjqf","https://github.com/WWBN/AVideo/security/advisories/GHSA-vvfw-4m39-fjqf"],"products":["wwbn:avideo"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T00:31:35.753532240+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-40925","score":0.00173,"percentile":0.06704,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
