Prior to version 1.22.0, the Velbus asset import path parses attacker-controlled XML without explicit XXE hardening. An authenticated user who can call the import endpoint may trigger XML external entity processing, which can lead to server-side file disclosure and SSRF. The target file must be less than 1023 characters. Version 1.22.0 fixes the issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:L/A:L","score":7.6},"cwes":["CWE-611"],"references":["https://github.com/openremote/openremote/security/advisories/GHSA-g24f-mgc3-jwwc","https://github.com/openremote/openremote/security/advisories/GHSA-g24f-mgc3-jwwc"],"products":["openremote:openremote"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:33:09.003606135+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-40882","score":0.00258,"percentile":0.17465,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-g24f-mgc3-jwwc","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-g24f-mgc3-jwwc","summary":"OpenRemote has XXE in Velbus Asset Import","modified":"2026-05-05T16:06:25.845463Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"io.openremote:openremote-manager","purl":"pkg:maven/io.openremote/openremote-manager","ranges":["<1.22.0"],"fixed":["1.22.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
