In versions prior to 7.2.0, the GET /api/person/{personId} endpoint loads and returns person records without performing object-level authorization checks. Although the legacy PersonView.php page enforces canEditPerson() restrictions, the API layer omits this check. Any authenticated user with only EditSelf privileges can enumerate and read other members' records, exposing sensitive PII including names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses. This issue has been fixed in version 7.2.0.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":7.1},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-639","CWE-862"],"references":["https://github.com/ChurchCRM/CRM/commit/28ea7a2965fc2fe30e150fadb1ae38a97f8225c2","https://github.com/ChurchCRM/CRM/issues/8617","https://github.com/ChurchCRM/CRM/pull/8616","https://github.com/ChurchCRM/CRM/security/advisories/GHSA-5w59-32c8-933v","https://github.com/ChurchCRM/CRM/security/advisories/GHSA-5w59-32c8-933v"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T22:26:44.656832877+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-40480","score":0.00336,"percentile":0.26828,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
