In versions 6.0.0 through 6.0.2, a soundness vulnerability in the SP1 V6 recursive shard verifier allows a malicious prover to construct a recursive proof from a shard proof that the native verifier would reject. Version 6.1.0 fixes the issue.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:H/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:H/VA:N/SC:N/SI:H/SA:N","score":8.9},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:N","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-345","CWE-354"],"references":["https://github.com/succinctlabs/sp1/releases/tag/v6.1.0","https://github.com/succinctlabs/sp1/security/advisories/GHSA-63x8-x938-vx33"],"products":["succinct:sp1"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T21:38:48.864438205+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-40323","score":0.00195,"percentile":0.09142,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-63x8-x938-vx33","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-63x8-x938-vx33","summary":"SP1 V6 Recursion Circuit Row-Count Binding Gap","modified":"2026-05-05T16:02:07.232519Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"sp1_sdk","purl":"pkg:cargo/sp1_sdk","ranges":[">=6.0.0 <6.1.0"],"fixed":["6.1.0"]},{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"sp1_recursion_circuit","purl":"pkg:cargo/sp1_recursion_circuit","ranges":[">=6.0.0 <6.1.0"],"fixed":["6.1.0"]},{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"sp1_prover","purl":"pkg:cargo/sp1_prover","ranges":[">=6.0.0 <6.1.0"],"fixed":["6.1.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
