In versions 3.4.0 through 3.4.9, 3.3.0 through 3.3.9, and 3.2.0 through 3.2.7, `internal_dwa_compressor.h:1722` performs `curc->width * curc->height` in `int32` arithmetic without a `(size_t)` cast. This is the same overflow pattern fixed in other locations by the recent CVE-2026-34589 batch, but this line was missed. Versions 3.4.10, 3.3.10, and 3.2.8 contain a fix that addresses `internal_dwa_compressor.h:1722`.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":8.4},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:H","score":7.1},"cwes":["CWE-190"],"references":["https://github.com/AcademySoftwareFoundation/openexr/releases/tag/v3.2.8","https://github.com/AcademySoftwareFoundation/openexr/releases/tag/v3.3.10","https://github.com/AcademySoftwareFoundation/openexr/releases/tag/v3.4.10","https://github.com/AcademySoftwareFoundation/openexr/security/advisories/GHSA-j526-66f6-fxhx","https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2026-40244"],"products":["openexr:openexr"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T21:38:48.864438205+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-40244","score":0.00427,"percentile":0.36668,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
