In versions 1.49.0 through 1.51.0, when SpiceDB starts with log level info, the startup \"configuration\" log will include the full datastore DSN, including the plaintext password, inside DatastoreConfig.URI. This issue has been fixed in version 1.51.1. If users are unable to immediately upgrade, they can work around this issue by changing the log level to warn or error.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":4.4},"cwes":["CWE-532"],"references":["https://github.com/authzed/spicedb/releases/tag/v1.51.1","https://github.com/authzed/spicedb/security/advisories/GHSA-jf4f-rr2c-9m58"],"products":["authzed:spicedb"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T22:26:44.656832877+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-40091","score":0.00166,"percentile":0.05809,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-jf4f-rr2c-9m58","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-jf4f-rr2c-9m58","summary":"SpiceDB's SPICEDB_DATASTORE_CONN_URI is leaked on startup logs","modified":"2026-06-25T23:11:22.912620274Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/authzed/spicedb","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/authzed/spicedb","ranges":[">=1.49.0 <1.51.1"],"fixed":["1.51.1"]}]},{"id":"GO-2026-5465","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2026-5465","summary":"SpiceDB's SPICEDB_DATASTORE_CONN_URI is leaked on startup logs in github.com/authzed/spicedb","modified":"2026-06-25T23:01:17.191267943Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/authzed/spicedb","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/authzed/spicedb","ranges":[">=1.49.0 <1.51.1"],"fixed":["1.51.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
