Prior to 2.57.1, redirect, when called from inside the handle server hook with a location parameter containing characters that are invalid in a HTTP header, will cause an unhandled TypeError. This could result in DoS on some platforms, especially if the location passed to redirect contains unsanitized user input. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.57.1.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:L","score":6.3},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-755"],"references":["https://github.com/sveltejs/kit/commit/10d7b44425c3d9da642eecce373d0c6ef83b4fcd","https://github.com/sveltejs/kit/releases/tag/@sveltejs/kit@2.57.1","https://github.com/sveltejs/kit/security/advisories/GHSA-3f6h-2hrp-w5wx"],"products":["svelte:kit"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T21:38:48.864438205+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-40074","score":0.00366,"percentile":0.30174,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-3f6h-2hrp-w5wx","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-3f6h-2hrp-w5wx","summary":"@sveltejs/kit: Unvalidated redirect in handle hook causes Denial-of-Service","modified":"2026-04-10T20:03:55.059697Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@sveltejs/kit","purl":"pkg:npm/%40sveltejs/kit","ranges":["<2.57.1"],"fixed":["2.57.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
