Prior to 0.5.0b3.dev97, the /json/package_order, /json/link_order, and /json/abort_link WebUI JSON endpoints enforce weaker permissions than the core API methods they invoke. This allows authenticated low-privileged users to execute MODIFY operations that should be denied by pyLoad's own permission model. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.5.0b3.dev97.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:L","score":5.4},"cwes":["CWE-863"],"references":["https://github.com/pyload/pyload/security/advisories/GHSA-rfgh-63mg-8pwm","https://github.com/pyload/pyload/security/advisories/GHSA-rfgh-63mg-8pwm"],"products":["pyload:pyload"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:28:59.047572785+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-40071","score":0.00219,"percentile":0.12379,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-rfgh-63mg-8pwm","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-rfgh-63mg-8pwm","summary":"pyload-ng has a WebUI JSON permission mismatch that lets ADD/DELETE users invoke MODIFY-only actions","modified":"2026-10-26T16:15:35.376143619Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"pyload-ng","purl":"pkg:pypi/pyload-ng","ranges":["<0.5.0b3.dev97"],"fixed":["0.5.0b3.dev97"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-2997","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-2997","summary":"pyload-ng has a WebUI JSON permission mismatch that lets ADD/DELETE users invoke MODIFY-only actions","modified":"2026-07-13T16:32:43.717402463Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"pyload-ng","purl":"pkg:pypi/pyload-ng","ranges":["<=0.5.0b3"],"fixed":[]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
