The\nreadLength method reads an attacker-controlled 32-bit integer from the\nsocket and readData passes it directly to new byte[length] with no\nupper-bound check. An unauthenticated attacker can cause the JVM to attempt\nan allocation of up to 2,147,483,647 bytes per connection, exhausting heap\nmemory and crashing or severely degrading the DataNode process.\n\n\nThis issue affects Apache IoTDB: from 1.0.0 before 2.0.10.\n\nUsers are recommended to upgrade to version 2.0.10, which fixes the issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-306","CWE-770","CWE-789"],"references":["https://lists.apache.org/thread/rfpt7m9fvdrw37r3ow5omp2n914z6zqk","http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2026/07/10/3"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-25T17:50:06.907763985+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-40006","score":0.00584,"percentile":0.47652,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
