Prior to 11.17.0, Directus stores revision records (in directus_revisions) whenever items are created or updated. Due to the revision snapshot code not consistently calling the prepareDelta sanitization pipeline, sensitive fields (including user tokens, two-factor authentication secrets, external auth identifiers, auth data, stored credentials, and AI provider API keys) could be stored in plaintext within revision records. This vulnerability is fixed in 11.17.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-200","CWE-312"],"references":["https://github.com/directus/directus/releases/tag/v11.17.0","https://github.com/directus/directus/security/advisories/GHSA-mvv8-v4jj-g47j"],"products":["monospace:directus"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:28:59.047572785+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-39943","score":0.0017,"percentile":0.06305,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-mvv8-v4jj-g47j","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-mvv8-v4jj-g47j","summary":"Directus: Sensitive fields exposed in revision history","modified":"2026-04-09T19:19:00.341858Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"directus","purl":"pkg:npm/directus","ranges":["<11.17.0"],"fixed":["11.17.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
