{"cve":"CVE-2026-39381","nvd":{"published":"2026-04-07T20:16:32.790","modified":"2026-07-24T21:10:00.143","status":"Analyzed","description":"Parse Server is an open source backend that can be deployed to any infrastructure that can run Node.js. Prior to 9.8.0-alpha.7 and 8.6.75, the GET /sessions/me endpoint returns _Session fields that the server operator explicitly configured as protected via the protectedFields server option. Any authenticated user can retrieve their own session's protected fields with a single request. The equivalent GET /sessions and GET /sessions/:objectId endpoints correctly strip protected fields. This vulnerability is fixed in 9.8.0-alpha.7 and 8.6.75.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":5.3},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","score":4.3},"cwes":["CWE-863"],"references":["https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/pull/10406","https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/pull/10407","https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/security/advisories/GHSA-g4v2-qx3q-4p64"],"products":["parseplatform:parse-server"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:28:59.047572785+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-39381","score":0.00193,"percentile":0.08991,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-g4v2-qx3q-4p64","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-g4v2-qx3q-4p64","summary":"Parse Server's Endpoint `/sessions/me` bypasses `_Session` `protectedFields`","modified":"2026-04-15T21:35:50.168749Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"parse-server","purl":"pkg:npm/parse-server","ranges":[">=9.0.0 <9.8.0-alpha.7"],"fixed":["9.8.0-alpha.7"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"parse-server","purl":"pkg:npm/parse-server","ranges":[">=7.0.0 <8.6.75"],"fixed":["8.6.75"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
