{"cve":"CVE-2026-39360","nvd":{"published":"2026-04-07T19:16:46.673","modified":"2026-07-24T21:10:00.143","status":"Analyzed","description":"RustFS is a distributed object storage system built in Rust. Prior to alpha.90, RustFS contains a missing authorization check in the multipart copy path (UploadPartCopy). A low-privileged user who cannot read objects from a victim bucket can still exfiltrate victim objects by copying them into an attacker-controlled multipart upload and completing the upload. This breaks tenant isolation in multi-user / multi-tenant deployments. This vulnerability is fixed in alpha.90.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":5.3},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","score":4.3},"cwes":["CWE-862"],"references":["https://github.com/rustfs/rustfs/security/advisories/GHSA-mx42-j6wv-px98"],"products":["rustfs:rustfs"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:28:59.047572785+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-39360","score":0.00201,"percentile":0.10066,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-mx42-j6wv-px98","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-mx42-j6wv-px98","summary":"RustFS has an authorization bypass in multipart UploadPartCopy enables cross-bucket object exfiltration","modified":"2026-04-10T21:48:50.113987Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"rustfs","purl":"pkg:cargo/rustfs","ranges":["<=0.0.2"],"fixed":[]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
