{"cve":"CVE-2026-3851","nvd":{"published":"2026-09-02T04:17:52.860","modified":"2026-09-03T19:17:27.747","status":"Deferred","description":"The Divi theme for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the Dynamic Content feature's legacy JSON format in all versions up to, and including, 4.27.6. This is due to two compounding flaws: (1) the save-time sanitization filter `et_builder_sanitize_dynamic_content_fields()` only searches for dynamic content markers in the `@ET-DC@...@` format, but the rendering engine also supports a legacy JSON format that is silently converted at render time, completely bypassing the save-time filter, and (2) the `post_meta_key` resolver in `et_builder_filter_resolve_default_dynamic_content()` does not apply `wp_kses_post()` to the resolved meta value when `enable_html` is set to `on`, passing raw `get_post_meta()` output directly to the page. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":6.4},"cwes":["CWE-79"],"references":["https://www.divichangelog.com/divi-update/divi-4/version-4-27-7","https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/9384d32d-77a1-4794-aace-96f553302a3b?source=cve"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:50:50.842544443+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-3851","score":0.00283,"percentile":0.20873,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
