The fix for CVE-2026-33509 added an ADMIN_ONLY_OPTIONS set to block non-admin users from modifying security-critical config options. The storage_folder option is not in this set and passes the existing path restriction because the Flask session directory is outside both PKGDIR and userdir. A user with SETTINGS and ADD permissions can redirect downloads to the Flask filesystem session store, plant a malicious pickle payload as a predictable session file, and trigger arbitrary code execution when any HTTP request arrives with the corresponding session cookie. This vulnerability is fixed with commit c4cf995a2803bdbe388addfc2b0f323277efc0e1.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-502","CWE-863"],"references":["https://github.com/pyload/pyload/commit/c4cf995a2803bdbe388addfc2b0f323277efc0e1","https://github.com/pyload/pyload/security/advisories/GHSA-4744-96p5-mp2j","https://github.com/pyload/pyload/security/advisories/GHSA-r7mc-x6x7-cqxx","https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-33509","https://github.com/pyload/pyload/security/advisories/GHSA-4744-96p5-mp2j"],"products":["pyload:pyload"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:28:59.047572785+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-35464","score":0.00529,"percentile":0.44773,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-4744-96p5-mp2j","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-4744-96p5-mp2j","summary":"pyLoad: Unprotected storage_folder enables arbitrary file write to Flask session store and code execution (Incomplete fix for CVE-2026-33509)","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:42.785411390Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"pyload-ng","purl":"pkg:pypi/pyload-ng","ranges":["<=0.5.0b3"],"fixed":[]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-2989","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-2989","summary":"pyLoad: Unprotected storage_folder enables arbitrary file write to Flask session store and code execution (Incomplete fix for CVE-2026-33509)","modified":"2026-07-13T16:32:35.350166882Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"pyload-ng","purl":"pkg:pypi/pyload-ng","ranges":["<=0.5.0b3"],"fixed":[]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
