{"cve":"CVE-2026-35463","nvd":{"published":"2026-04-07T15:17:44.363","modified":"2026-06-17T10:40:38.503","status":"Analyzed","description":"pyLoad is a free and open-source download manager written in Python. In 0.5.0b3.dev96 and earlier, the ADMIN_ONLY_OPTIONS protection mechanism restricts security-critical configuration values (reconnect scripts, SSL certs, proxy credentials) to admin-only access. However, this protection is only applied to core config options, not to plugin config options. The AntiVirus plugin stores an executable path (avfile) in its config, which is passed directly to subprocess.Popen(). A non-admin user with SETTINGS permission can change this path to achieve remote code execution.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-78"],"references":["https://github.com/pyload/pyload/commit/c4cf995a2803bdbe388addfc2b0f323277efc0e1","https://github.com/pyload/pyload/security/advisories/GHSA-w48f-wwwf-f5fr"],"products":["pyload-ng_project:pyload-ng"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:28:59.047572785+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-35463","score":0.00815,"percentile":0.57087,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-w48f-wwwf-f5fr","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-w48f-wwwf-f5fr","summary":"pyLoad: Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an OS Command","modified":"2026-07-13T07:26:31.284618564Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"pyload-ng","purl":"pkg:pypi/pyload-ng","ranges":["<=0.5.0b3.dev96"],"fixed":[]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-2267","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-2267","summary":"","modified":"2026-07-13T07:15:41.193313924Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"pyload-ng","purl":"pkg:pypi/pyload-ng","ranges":["<0.5.0b3.dev97"],"fixed":["0.5.0b3.dev97"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
