Prior to version 1.5.90, execute_code() in praisonai-agents runs attacker-controlled Python inside a three-layer sandbox that can be fully bypassed by passing a str subclass with an overridden startswith() method to the _safe_getattr wrapper, achieving arbitrary OS command execution on the host. This issue has been patched in version 1.5.90.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":10.0},"cwes":["CWE-693"],"references":["https://github.com/MervinPraison/PraisonAI/security/advisories/GHSA-6vh2-h83c-9294"],"products":["praison:praisonaiagents"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:28:59.047572785+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-34938","score":0.13398,"percentile":0.96422,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-6vh2-h83c-9294","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-6vh2-h83c-9294","summary":"PraisonAI: Python Sandbox Escape via str Subclass startswith() Override in execute_code","modified":"2026-06-29T12:26:47.892413849Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"praisonaiagents","purl":"pkg:pypi/praisonaiagents","ranges":["<1.5.90"],"fixed":["1.5.90"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-484","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-484","summary":"PraisonAI: Python Sandbox Escape via str Subclass startswith() Override in execute_code","modified":"2026-07-13T16:15:32.150045030Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"praisonaiagents","purl":"pkg:pypi/praisonaiagents","ranges":["<1.5.90"],"fixed":["1.5.90"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
