Prior to version 1.17.0, a path traversal vulnerability in the static file route handler allows any unauthenticated user to determine whether files exist anywhere on the server's filesystem. by sending percent-encoded \"../\" sequences (%2E%2E%2F) in requests to static file routes, an attacker can check for the existence of files. This issue has been patched in version 1.17.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","score":5.3},"cwes":["CWE-22"],"references":["https://github.com/SillyTavern/SillyTavern/releases/tag/1.17.0","https://github.com/SillyTavern/SillyTavern/security/advisories/GHSA-525j-2hrj-m8fp"],"products":["sillytavern:sillytavern"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:28:18.033120106+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-34523","score":0.00467,"percentile":0.4043,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-525j-2hrj-m8fp","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-525j-2hrj-m8fp","summary":"SillyTavern: Path Traversal allows file existence oracle","modified":"2026-04-06T17:31:29.470446Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"sillytavern","purl":"pkg:npm/sillytavern","ranges":["<1.17.0"],"fixed":["1.17.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
