Prior to version 6.9.4, the FHIR Validator HTTP service exposes an unauthenticated \"/loadIG\" endpoint that makes outbound HTTP requests to attacker-controlled URLs. Combined with a startsWith() URL prefix matching flaw in the credential provider (ManagedWebAccessUtils.getServer()), an attacker can steal authentication tokens (Bearer, Basic, API keys) configured for legitimate FHIR servers by registering a domain that prefix-matches a configured server URL. This issue has been patched in version 6.9.4.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:L/A:N","score":9.3},"cwes":["CWE-552"],"references":["https://github.com/hapifhir/org.hl7.fhir.core/security/advisories/GHSA-vr79-8m62-wh98"],"products":["hapifhir:hl7_fhir_core"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:28:18.033120106+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-34361","score":0.00305,"percentile":0.23271,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-vr79-8m62-wh98","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-vr79-8m62-wh98","summary":"FHIR Validator HTTP service has SSRF via /loadIG Chains with startsWith() Credential Leak for Authentication Token Theft","modified":"2026-03-31T19:05:05.631952Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"ca.uhn.hapi.fhir:org.hl7.fhir.validation","purl":"pkg:maven/ca.uhn.hapi.fhir/org.hl7.fhir.validation","ranges":["<6.9.4"],"fixed":["6.9.4"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
