{"cve":"CVE-2026-34067","nvd":{"published":"2026-04-22T21:17:07.760","modified":"2026-10-26T22:10:00.163","status":"Analyzed","description":"nimiq-transaction provides the transaction primitive to be used in Nimiq's Rust implementation. Prior to version 1.3.0, `HistoryTreeProof::verify` panics on a malformed proof where `history.len() != positions.len()` due to `assert_eq!(history.len(), positions.len())`. The proof object is derived from untrusted p2p responses (`ResponseTransactionsProof.proof`) and is therefore attacker-controlled at the network boundary until validated. A malicious peer could trigger a crash by returning a crafted inclusion proof with a length mismatch. The patch for this vulnerability is included as part of v1.3.0. No known workarounds are available.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-617"],"references":["https://github.com/nimiq/core-rs-albatross/commit/6ff0800e8e031363e787c827d8d033e5694e4e6a","https://github.com/nimiq/core-rs-albatross/pull/3659","https://github.com/nimiq/core-rs-albatross/releases/tag/v1.3.0","https://github.com/nimiq/core-rs-albatross/security/advisories/GHSA-264v-m8fm-76jm"],"products":["nimiq:nimiq_proof-of-stake"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T22:26:44.656832877+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-34067","score":0.00318,"percentile":0.24564,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-264v-m8fm-76jm","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-264v-m8fm-76jm","summary":"nimiq-transaction: Panic via `HistoryTreeProof` length mismatch","modified":"2026-05-05T15:59:34.424080Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"nimiq-transaction","purl":"pkg:cargo/nimiq-transaction","ranges":["<=0.2.0"],"fixed":[]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
