{"cve":"CVE-2026-34065","nvd":{"published":"2026-04-22T20:16:41.077","modified":"2026-10-26T22:10:00.163","status":"Analyzed","description":"nimiq-primitives contains primitives (e.g., block, account, transaction) to be used in Nimiq's Rust implementation. Prior to version 1.3.0, an untrusted p2p peer can cause a node to panic by announcing an election macro block whose `validators` set contains an invalid compressed BLS voting key. Hashing an election macro header hashes `validators` and reaches `Validators::voting_keys()`, which calls `validator.voting_key.uncompress().unwrap()` and panics on invalid bytes. The patch for this vulnerability is included as part of v1.3.0. No known workarounds are available.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-252","CWE-755"],"references":["https://github.com/nimiq/core-rs-albatross/commit/e10eaebcd7774e5da6d0ff5e88ed13503474f0ff","https://github.com/nimiq/core-rs-albatross/pull/3662","https://github.com/nimiq/core-rs-albatross/releases/tag/v1.3.0","https://github.com/nimiq/core-rs-albatross/security/advisories/GHSA-7c4j-2m43-2mgh"],"products":["nimiq:nimiq_proof-of-stake"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T22:26:44.656832877+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-34065","score":0.00372,"percentile":0.30916,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-7c4j-2m43-2mgh","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-7c4j-2m43-2mgh","summary":"nimiq-primitives: Node crash due to missing interlink validation in election macro block proposals","modified":"2026-05-05T16:03:26.628366Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"nimiq-primitives","purl":"pkg:cargo/nimiq-primitives","ranges":["<=0.2.0"],"fixed":[]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
