{"cve":"CVE-2026-33978","nvd":{"published":"2026-04-01T17:28:39.660","modified":"2026-10-26T22:10:00.163","status":"Analyzed","description":"Notesnook is a note-taking app focused on user privacy & ease of use. Prior to version 3.3.17, a stored XSS vulnerability exists in the mobile share / web clip flow because attacker-controlled clip metadata is concatenated into HTML without escaping and then rendered with innerHTML inside the mobile share editor WebView. An attacker can control the shared title metadata (for example through Android/iOS share metadata such as TITLE / SUBJECT, or through link-preview title data) and inject HTML such as </a><img src=x onerror=...>. When the victim opens the Notesnook share flow and selects Web clip, the payload is inserted into the generated HTML and executed in the mobile editor WebView. This issue has been patched in version 3.3.17.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":6.1},"cwes":["CWE-79"],"references":["https://github.com/streetwriters/notesnook/commit/fc8807f74db5539036c5e58d3d68a11ea54098db","https://github.com/streetwriters/notesnook/releases/tag/3.3.17-android","https://github.com/streetwriters/notesnook/security/advisories/GHSA-f27j-fqc6-v7pm"],"products":["streetwriters:notesnook_mobile"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T22:26:44.656832877+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-33978","score":0.00286,"percentile":0.20951,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
