From version 2.10.10 to before version 5.18.1, this issue concerns Astro's remotePatterns path enforcement for remote URLs used by server-side fetchers such as the image optimization endpoint. The path matching logic for /* wildcards is unanchored, so a pathname that contains the allowed prefix later in the path can still match. As a result, an attacker can fetch paths outside the intended allowlisted prefix on an otherwise allowed host. This issue has been patched in version 5.18.1.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:P","score":2.9},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","score":5.3},"cwes":["CWE-20"],"references":["https://github.com/withastro/astro/security/advisories/GHSA-g735-7g2w-hh3f"],"products":["astro:astro"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:26:19.218427112+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-33769","score":0.00338,"percentile":0.27217,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-g735-7g2w-hh3f","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-g735-7g2w-hh3f","summary":"Astro: Remote allowlist bypass via unanchored matchPathname wildcard","modified":"2026-04-08T05:17:45.698338Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"astro","purl":"pkg:npm/astro","ranges":[">=2.10.10 <5.18.1"],"fixed":["5.18.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
