{"cve":"CVE-2026-33637","nvd":{"published":"2026-05-19T19:16:49.113","modified":"2026-07-24T09:10:00.153","status":"Analyzed","description":"Faraday is an HTTP client library abstraction layer that provides a common interface over many adapters. Versions 2.0.0 through 2.14.1 still allow protocol-relative host override when the request target is passed as a URI object (rather than a String) to Faraday::Connection#build_exclusive_url. This bypasses the February 2026 fix for GHSA-33mh-2634-fwr2 and enables off-host request forgery: a request built from a fixed-base Faraday::Connection can be redirected to an attacker-controlled host, forwarding connection-scoped values such as Authorization headers and default query parameters. This issue has been fixed in version 2.14.3.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-918"],"references":["https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-33mh-2634-fwr2","https://github.com/lostisland/faraday/security/advisories/GHSA-5rv5-xj5j-3484","https://github.com/lostisland/faraday/security/advisories/GHSA-5rv5-xj5j-3484"],"products":["faraday_project:faraday"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:35:16.954578616+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-33637","score":0.00272,"percentile":0.19627,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-5rv5-xj5j-3484","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-5rv5-xj5j-3484","summary":"Faraday has a possible incomplete fix for GHSA-33mh-2634-fwr2: protocol-relative URI objects still bypass host scoping","modified":"2026-09-10T03:51:04.731948847Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"RubyGems","name":"faraday","purl":"pkg:gem/faraday","ranges":[">=2.0.0 <2.14.2"],"fixed":["2.14.2"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
