{"cve":"CVE-2026-33310","nvd":{"published":"2026-03-24T14:16:30.130","modified":"2026-06-17T10:37:18.003","status":"Analyzed","description":"Intake is a package for finding, investigating, loading and disseminating data. Prior to version 2.0.9, the shell() syntax within parameter default values appears to be automatically expanded during the catalog parsing process. If a catalog contains a parameter default such as shell(<command>), the command may be executed when the catalog source is accessed. This means that if a user loads a malicious catalog YAML, embedded commands could execute on the host system. Version 2.0.9 mitigates the issue by making getshell False by default everywhere.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-78","CWE-94"],"references":["https://github.com/intake/intake/commit/d0c0b6b57c1cb3f73880655ded4a9b0e18e1fd1b","https://github.com/intake/intake/security/advisories/GHSA-37g4-qqqv-7m99"],"products":["intake:intake"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:26:19.218427112+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-33310","score":0.00436,"percentile":0.37914,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-37g4-qqqv-7m99","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-37g4-qqqv-7m99","summary":"Intake has a Command Injection via shell() Expansion in Parameter Defaults","modified":"2026-07-13T07:26:36.151264920Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"intake","purl":"pkg:pypi/intake","ranges":["<=2.0.9"],"fixed":[]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-2185","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-2185","summary":"","modified":"2026-07-13T07:15:33.170236085Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"intake","purl":"pkg:pypi/intake","ranges":["<2.0.9"],"fixed":["2.0.9"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
