In versions prior to 5.17, the tasks API didn't verify user access for pending tasks. This could expose logs of in-progress operations to users who don't have access to given scope. The attacker needs to brute-force the random UUID of the task, so exploiting this is unlikely with the default API rate limits. This issue has been fixed in version 5.17.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","score":3.1},"cwes":["CWE-284"],"references":["https://github.com/WeblateOrg/weblate/commit/4e06b12cd05d087db68384e09d5f70fe883f2b70","https://github.com/WeblateOrg/weblate/security/advisories/GHSA-vj45-x3pj-f4w4"],"products":["weblate:weblate"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T21:38:48.864438205+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-33212","score":0.00221,"percentile":0.12544,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-vj45-x3pj-f4w4","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-vj45-x3pj-f4w4","summary":"Weblate: Improper access control for pending tasks in API","modified":"2026-07-13T07:26:48.702488912Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"weblate","purl":"pkg:pypi/weblate","ranges":["<5.17"],"fixed":["5.17"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-2311","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-2311","summary":"","modified":"2026-07-13T07:15:47.884410221Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"weblate","purl":"pkg:pypi/weblate","ranges":["<5.17"],"fixed":["5.17"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
