Versions 2.0.1-beta.0 through 2.0.0-rc.8 contain a Timing Side-Channel vulnerability in the requireBasicAuth function due to the use of unsafe string comparison (!==). This allows an attacker to deduce the valid password character-by-character by measuring the server's response time, effectively bypassing password complexity protections. This issue is fixed in version 2.0.1-rc.9.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":5.9},"cwes":["CWE-208"],"references":["https://github.com/h3js/h3/pull/1283","https://github.com/h3js/h3/releases/tag/v2.0.1-rc.9","https://github.com/h3js/h3/security/advisories/GHSA-26f5-8h2x-34xh"],"products":["h3:h3"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:26:19.218427112+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-33129","score":0.00324,"percentile":0.2553,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-26f5-8h2x-34xh","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-26f5-8h2x-34xh","summary":"h3 has an observable timing discrepancy in basic auth utils","modified":"2026-03-20T21:35:11.362620Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"h3","purl":"pkg:npm/h3","ranges":[">=2.0.0-beta.0 <2.0.1-rc.9"],"fixed":["2.0.1-rc.9"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
