{"cve":"CVE-2026-32828","nvd":{"published":"2026-03-20T01:15:56.110","modified":"2026-06-17T10:36:24.413","status":"Analyzed","description":"Kargo manages and automates the promotion of software artifacts. In versions 1.4.0 through 1.6.3, 1.7.0-rc.1 through 1.7.8, 1.8.0-rc.1 through 1.8.11, and 1.9.0-rc.1 through 1.9.4, the http and http-download promotion steps allow Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) against link-local addresses, most critically the cloud instance metadata endpoint (169.254.169.254), enabling exfiltration of sensitive data such as IAM credentials. These steps provide full control over request headers and methods, rendering cloud provider header-based SSRF mitigations ineffective. An authenticated attacker with permissions to create/update Stages or craft Promotion resources can exploit this by submitting a malicious Promotion manifest, with response data retrievable via Promotion status fields, Git repositories, or a second http step. This issue has been fixed in versions 1.6.4, 1.7.9, 1.8.12 and 1.9.5.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:H/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:N/SC:L/SI:N/SA:N","score":5.1},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":4.9},"cwes":["CWE-918"],"references":["https://github.com/akuity/kargo/commit/fd25620c2473ed19bec4be4d0f181287ef0f0391","https://github.com/akuity/kargo/security/advisories/GHSA-j94x-8wcp-x7hm"],"products":["akuity:kargo"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:26:19.218427112+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-32828","score":0.00334,"percentile":0.26731,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-j94x-8wcp-x7hm","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-j94x-8wcp-x7hm","summary":"Kargo Vulnerable to SSRF in Promotion http/http-download Steps Enables Internal Network Access and Data Exfiltration","modified":"2026-03-26T21:11:15.970741Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/akuity/kargo","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/akuity/kargo","ranges":[">=1.4.0 <1.6.4"],"fixed":["1.6.4"]},{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/akuity/kargo","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/akuity/kargo","ranges":[">=1.7.0-rc.1 <1.7.9"],"fixed":["1.7.9"]},{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/akuity/kargo","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/akuity/kargo","ranges":[">=1.8.0-rc.1 <1.8.12"],"fixed":["1.8.12"]},{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/akuity/kargo","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/akuity/kargo","ranges":[">=1.9.0-rc.1 <1.9.5"],"fixed":["1.9.5"]}]},{"id":"GO-2026-4717","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2026-4717","summary":"Kargo Vulnerable to SSRF in Promotion http/http-download Steps Enables Internal Network Access and Data Exfiltration in github.com/akuity/kargo","modified":"2026-03-26T21:03:03.812671Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/akuity/kargo","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/akuity/kargo","ranges":[">=1.4.0 <1.6.4",">=1.7.0-rc.1 <1.7.9",">=1.8.0-rc.1 <1.8.12",">=1.9.0-rc.1 <1.9.5"],"fixed":["1.6.4","1.7.9","1.8.12","1.9.5"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
