{"cve":"CVE-2026-32742","nvd":{"published":"2026-03-18T22:16:25.183","modified":"2026-06-17T10:36:18.463","status":"Analyzed","description":"Parse Server is an open source backend that can be deployed to any infrastructure that can run Node.js. Prior to 9.6.0-alpha.17 and 8.6.42, an authenticated user can overwrite server-generated session fields (`sessionToken`, `expiresAt`, `createdWith`) when creating a session object via `POST /classes/_Session`. This allows bypassing the server's session expiration policy by setting an arbitrary far-future expiration date. It also allows setting a predictable session token value. Starting in version 9.6.0-alpha.17 and 8.6.42, the session creation endpoint filters out server-generated fields from user-supplied data, preventing them from being overwritten. As a workaround, add a `beforeSave` trigger on the `_Session` class to validate and reject or strip any user-supplied values for `sessionToken`, `expiresAt`, and `createdWith`.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N","score":4.3},"cwes":["CWE-915"],"references":["https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/pull/10195","https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/pull/10196","https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/security/advisories/GHSA-5v7g-9h8f-8pgg"],"products":["parseplatform:parse-server"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:26:19.218427112+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-32742","score":0.00317,"percentile":0.24664,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-5v7g-9h8f-8pgg","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-5v7g-9h8f-8pgg","summary":"Parse Server session creation endpoint allows overwriting server-generated session fields","modified":"2026-03-20T12:26:20.148510Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"parse-server","purl":"pkg:npm/parse-server","ranges":[">=9.0.0 <9.6.0-alpha.17"],"fixed":["9.6.0-alpha.17"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"parse-server","purl":"pkg:npm/parse-server","ranges":["<8.6.42"],"fixed":["8.6.42"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
