{"cve":"CVE-2026-32730","nvd":{"published":"2026-03-18T23:17:29.370","modified":"2026-06-17T10:36:17.173","status":"Analyzed","description":"ApostropheCMS is an open-source content management framework. Prior to version 4.28.0, the bearer token authentication middleware in `@apostrophecms/express/index.js` (lines 386-389) contains an incorrect MongoDB query that allows incomplete login tokens — where the password was verified but TOTP/MFA requirements were NOT — to be used as fully authenticated bearer tokens. This completely bypasses multi-factor authentication for any ApostropheCMS deployment using `@apostrophecms/login-totp` or any custom `afterPasswordVerified` login requirement. Version 4.28.0 fixes the issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.1},"cwes":["CWE-287","CWE-305"],"references":["https://github.com/apostrophecms/apostrophe/security/advisories/GHSA-v9xm-ffx2-7h35"],"products":["apostrophecms:apostrophecms"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:26:19.218427112+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-32730","score":0.00376,"percentile":0.3159,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-v9xm-ffx2-7h35","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-v9xm-ffx2-7h35","summary":"ApostropheCMS MFA/TOTP Bypass via Incorrect MongoDB Query in Bearer Token Middleware","modified":"2026-03-19T21:32:19.224495Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"apostrophe","purl":"pkg:npm/apostrophe","ranges":["<4.28.0"],"fixed":["4.28.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
