In NanoMQ version 0.24.6, after enabling auth.http_auth (HTTP authentication), when a client connects to the broker using MQTT CONNECT without providing username/password, and the configuration params uses the placeholders %u / %P (e.g., username=\"%u\", password=\"%P\"), the HTTP request construction phase enters auth_http.c:set_data(). This results in calling strlen() on a NULL pointer, causing a SIGSEGV crash. This crash can be triggered remotely, resulting in a denial of service. This issue has been patched in version 0.24.7.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-476"],"references":["https://github.com/nanomq/NanoNNG/commit/c20aa27e5290bb480a5315099952480d35f37a8b","https://github.com/nanomq/NanoNNG/pull/1394","https://github.com/nanomq/nanomq/releases/tag/0.24.7","https://github.com/nanomq/nanomq/security/advisories/GHSA-77f4-wvq8-mp3p"],"products":["emqx:nanomq"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:28:18.033120106+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-32696","score":0.00414,"percentile":0.35773,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
