In 1.11.1 and earlier, AnythingLLM Desktop contains a Streaming Phase XSS vulnerability in the chat rendering pipeline that escalates to Remote Code Execution on the host OS due to insecure Electron configuration. This works with default settings and requires no user interaction beyond normal chat usage. The custom markdown-it image renderer in frontend/src/utils/chat/markdown.js interpolates token.content directly into the alt attribute without HTML entity escaping. The PromptReply component renders this output via dangerouslySetInnerHTML without DOMPurify sanitization — unlike HistoricalMessage which correctly applies DOMPurify.sanitize().","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.6},"cwes":["CWE-79"],"references":["https://github.com/Mintplex-Labs/anything-llm/commit/9e2d144dc8be6fab29f560f5bcdaa9ef7dbb4214","https://github.com/Mintplex-Labs/anything-llm/security/advisories/GHSA-rrmw-2j6x-4mf2"],"products":["mintplexlabs:anythingllm"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:26:19.218427112+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-32626","score":0.0075,"percentile":0.54982,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
