From version 4.0.0-RC1 to before version 4.17.5 and from version 5.0.0-RC1 to before version 5.9.11, the AssetsController->replaceFile() method has a targetFilename body parameter that is used unsanitized in a deleteFile() call before Assets::prepareAssetName() is applied on save. This allows an authenticated user with replaceFiles permission to delete arbitrary files within the same filesystem root by injecting ../ path traversal sequences into the filename. This could allow an authenticated user with replaceFiles permission on one volume to delete files in other folders/volumes that share the same filesystem root. This only affects local filesystems. This issue has been patched in versions 4.17.5 and 5.9.11.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":5.3},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N","score":4.3},"cwes":["CWE-22"],"references":["https://github.com/craftcms/cms/commit/c997efbe4c66c14092714233aeebff15cdbfcf11","https://github.com/craftcms/cms/security/advisories/GHSA-472v-j2g4-g9h2"],"products":["craftcms:craft_cms"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:26:19.218427112+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-32262","score":0.00302,"percentile":0.22986,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
