Prior to 3.4.0, flatted's parse() function uses a recursive revive() phase to resolve circular references in deserialized JSON. When given a crafted payload with deeply nested or self-referential $ indices, the recursion depth is unbounded, causing a stack overflow that crashes the Node.js process. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.4.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-674","CWE-770"],"references":["https://github.com/WebReflection/flatted/commit/7eb65d857e1a40de11c47461cdbc8541449f0606","https://github.com/WebReflection/flatted/pull/88","https://github.com/WebReflection/flatted/security/advisories/GHSA-25h7-pfq9-p65f","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:13826","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:21772"],"products":["webreflection:flatted"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:25:53.701907451+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-32141","score":0.00839,"percentile":0.57851,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-25h7-pfq9-p65f","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-25h7-pfq9-p65f","summary":"flatted vulnerable to unbounded recursion DoS in parse() revive phase","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:36.276174418Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"flatted","purl":"pkg:npm/flatted","ranges":["<3.4.0"],"fixed":["3.4.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
