Prior to 0.3.1, the S3 storage manager's isAuthorized() function is declared async (returns Promise<boolean>) but is called without await in both the POST and PUT handlers. Since a Promise object is always truthy in JavaScript, !isAuthorized(type) always evaluates to false, completely bypassing the authorization check. Any authenticated user with the lowest visitor role can upload, delete, rename, and list all files in the S3 bucket. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.3.1.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:L","score":6.3},"cwes":["CWE-863"],"references":["https://github.com/withstudiocms/studiocms/security/advisories/GHSA-mm78-fgq8-6pgr"],"products":["studiocms:studiocms"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:25:53.701907451+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-32101","score":0.00195,"percentile":0.09195,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-mm78-fgq8-6pgr","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-mm78-fgq8-6pgr","summary":"StudioCMS S3 Storage Manager Authorization Bypass via Missing `await` on Async Auth Check","modified":"2026-03-14T03:11:22.191060Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@studiocms/s3-storage","purl":"pkg:npm/%40studiocms/s3-storage","ranges":["<0.3.1"],"fixed":["0.3.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
