{"cve":"CVE-2026-32094","nvd":{"published":"2026-03-11T20:16:17.760","modified":"2026-06-17T10:35:07.427","status":"Analyzed","description":"Shescape is a simple shell escape library for JavaScript. Prior to 2.1.10, Shescape#escape() does not escape square-bracket glob syntax for Bash, BusyBox sh, and Dash. Applications that interpolate the return value directly into a shell command string can cause an attacker-controlled value like secret[12] to expand into multiple filesystem matches instead of a single literal argument, turning one argument into multiple trusted-pathname matches. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.1.10.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":6.9},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-200"],"references":["https://github.com/ericcornelissen/shescape/commit/6add105c6f6b508662bb5ae3b3bdd4c9bcebf37a","https://github.com/ericcornelissen/shescape/security/advisories/GHSA-9jfh-9xrq-4vwm"],"products":["shescape_project:shescape"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:25:53.701907451+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-32094","score":0.00227,"percentile":0.13539,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-9jfh-9xrq-4vwm","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-9jfh-9xrq-4vwm","summary":"Shescape escape() leaves bracket glob expansion active on Bash, BusyBox, and Dash","modified":"2026-03-13T11:41:24.990086Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"shescape","purl":"pkg:npm/shescape","ranges":["<2.1.10"],"fixed":["2.1.10"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
