{"cve":"CVE-2026-31870","nvd":{"published":"2026-03-11T18:16:26.487","modified":"2026-06-17T10:34:40.140","status":"Analyzed","description":"cpp-httplib is a C++11 single-file header-only cross platform HTTP/HTTPS library. Prior to 0.37.1, when a cpp-httplib client uses the streaming API (httplib::stream::Get, httplib::stream::Post, etc.), the library calls std::stoull() directly on the Content-Length header value received from the server with no input validation and no exception handling. std::stoull throws std::invalid_argument for non-numeric strings and std::out_of_range for values exceeding ULLONG_MAX. Since nothing catches these exceptions, the C++ runtime calls std::terminate(), which kills the process with SIGABRT. Any server the client connects to — including servers reached via HTTP redirects, third-party APIs, or man-in-the-middle positions can crash the client application with a single HTTP response. No authentication is required. No interaction from the end user is required. The crash is deterministic and immediate. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.37.1.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-248"],"references":["https://github.com/yhirose/cpp-httplib/security/advisories/GHSA-39q5-hh6x-jpxx"],"products":["yhirose:cpp-httplib"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:25:53.701907451+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-31870","score":0.00472,"percentile":0.40815,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
