In that\ncase chan->call is NULL, rxrpc_try_get_call() returns NULL and there is\nno reference to drop.\n\nThe client-side implicit-end error path does not account for that and\nunconditionally calls rxrpc_put_call(). This turns a protocol error\npath into a kernel crash instead of rejecting the packet.\n\nOnly drop the call reference if one was actually acquired. Keep the\nexisting protocol error handling unchanged.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-476"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/0c156aff8a2d4fa0d61db7837641975cf0e5452d","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/6331f1b24a3e85465f6454e003a3e6c22005a5c5","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/8299ca146489664e3c0c90a3b8900d8335b1ede4","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/9fb09861e2b8d1abfe2efaf260c9f1d30080ea38","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/b8f66447448d6c305a51413a67ec8ed26aa7d1dd"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-21T03:43:09.190223697+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-31638","score":0.00441,"percentile":0.38023,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
